Urban Lime represents city at global awards

Work by commercial urban regeneration specialists Urban Lime Properties within the City of Durban, was nominated for a United Nations Award by Invest Durban, the eThekwini Municipality unit for promoting inward investment, for meeting sustainable development goals in 2017.

The Award's aim is to recognise and disseminate global best-practice in promoting and facilitating foreign direct investment of specific special development goals. Urban Lime Properties was the United Nations invited, eThekwini supported, nominee for the awards 2017. The ceremony for the Awards took place on 20 November 2017 in Geneva, Switzerland.

In summary, Economic Development and Durban Investment Promotion for eThekwini Municipality has assisted and supports Urban Lime's investment of R1.2bn (Eur 77m) since 2014, with further planned investment of R1bn in the next 18 months. This has resulted in significant changes to high-rise, main-street and iconic buildings, and key nodal precinct redevelopments along selected priority corridors, resulting in the creation of more than 450 jobs and renewed confidence in the City of Durban.
